Is the value lowered to 2 like the trooper and heavy trooper when capturing?
Wondering since it's not written in the definition that the defense value lowers and it's the same icon in the Battle Simulator.

Thanks

Tested it and it does have a defense drop down to 2. (same as trooper and heavy trooper)

yet you still have to check the attack value of the unit vs hovercraft not vs light inf.

The hovercraft weakness is enough that a full strength speedboat can clear a hover capture in a single attack when it can't clear an infantry capture.

edit "can", but doesn't always

speedboats have higher attack value vs amphibic than light units....

Boodog, I love you, buddy, but first the subs 2 space attack and the capturing hovers being weak against speedboats?

I fear the day you learn all the rules.

I'm going to warm this one up, because I actually think the defense value of a capturing hover is 4 (not 2)

To sum up what is known:
A trooper has a defense value of 6. If he is currently capturing, the defense value drops to 2, see http://weewar.wikispaces.com/Trooper
However, troopers gain an additional defense of 2 on bases, so a capturing trooper has a total defense value of 4.
This can be confirmed by experiment and also agrees with the result of Pluto's battle simulator.

The question is: What is the defense vaule of a capturing hovercraft?
I'm saying: It's 4. Since a hover does not gain additional defense on bases, the total defense value is again 4 (as for troopers).

Let's confirm this by experiment and attack a capturing hover with different units:
* An attacking trooper has a total attack value of 10+3-4=9, so the remaining hitpoints of the capping hover are expected to be 6 (55%) or 5/7 (each about 20%). Fits with the experiment (6: 62.5%, 5: 25%, 7: 12.5%).
* An attacking speedboat has a total attack value of 10+16-4=22, so the remaining hitpoints are usually 0 (55%) or 1 (45%). Experiment: 0 (50%) and 1 (50%). Actually, the outcome here would be the same if the defense value of the capping hover was any value between 0 and 6, so this is not really relevant.
* An attacking hover has a total attack value of 10+10-4=16, so the remaining hitpoints are 2 (45%) or 3 (48%). Experiment: 3 (50%), 2 (37.5%), 1(12.5%).

The sample size was not very large, but you are welcome to confirm this by repeating this experiment as often as you like Here is the map: http://weewar.com/map/64495

Here are the screens of the experiment. Only the last columns are relevant for the defense value of cappings hovers.

I agree that a hover doesn't have the same defence as a capturing trooper. (also a different type)

I believe it's the same penalty.
