There's a few different URLs floating around, perhaps Pluto could point us in the right direction:

http://plutosforge.com/files/weewarsuite2.user.js - From the original post
http://plutosforge.com/files/weewarsuite3.user.js - From page 2 of the thread, is this a fix for Firefox 3?
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/28906 - Is this the latest and greatest most absolute up-to-date version? Is this only for Firefox 3 or 2 as well (and Internet Explorer if you really must?)

I think when I installed, I used the last link but clicking on install didn't bring up the a dialog box to install it just displayed the actual code in my browser. If memory serves I had to initiate the "install" from within GreaseMonkey.

@bkeefer - I assumed btw that you are talking about portableapps.com with regard to portable versions of FireFox.

Darkbee,

I am talking about the portablapps.com version of firefox. I have now updated to firefox 3 (again from portableapps.com) and reinstalled greasemonkey as well as the weewar suite but still it has not changed my interface one bit. At this point I will just assume that weewar suite is not compatible with firefox portable.

And as a side note, if all you see is the script code when you go to the URL then you either don't have greasemonkey installed or it is disabled. Install it first and make sure it is enabled (which requires a firefox restart) and then go back to the script URL. You will be prompted to install the script with something like "welcome fellow traveller, this script was written for greasemonkey" and the install button will be greyed out for the first few seconds to allow you to read the warning that suggests you don't install scripts from untrusted sources.

Darkbee,

I went ahead and installed the June 21 version of the script (the last link in your post above) on firefox 3 portable and it worked! Thanks for the link as I did not find that link anywhere; not even on plutosforge.com.

I use both Firefox 2 & 3 portable and the suite works fine with both.

It ABSOLUTELY works with the PortableApps version because that is the only version I use (that includes either 2.0.0.16 or 3.0, I've tested and successfully used the suite with both). There is fundamentally no difference between the PortableApps version and the regular version of Firefox. The only significant difference is where all the data is stored (On your "portable" drive or your Windows user folders). There are other minor subtle differences but they have nothing to do with the way Firefox renders web pages or interprets javascript, the base code of Firefox remains the same.

In terms of installing I get a permissions error with the 3rd URL I listed above, but I figured out a way around it and everything seems to work fine. It could be that another add-on is conflicting with the install such as AdBlockPlus.

I had already replied that I got it working before both of these replies. You guys should read before posting.

I posted about 3 minutes after you, I was obviously distracted composing my masterpiece of a post, as you posted yours.

Hehe... had to.

Step 1: Download and Install Firefox
Step 2: Go Here for the Add-on
Step 3: After reseting make sure the little monkey in the bottom right of your browser is in color (not grayed out)
Step 4: Click one of the links above and press install.

Rather simple really.

You need to edit the weewar_suite.user.js file in some text editor. If you have that open, search for the text "automatically turn off email notification" and comment out everything from that text to "add in option to display old hovercraft", then save the file and you should be in business. I can be more detailed if that doesn't make much sense.

Thanks for responding, I'll let you know if it works!

When do you get this error? I haven't had any issues with this GM script.
