I can only make maps with the maximum dimensions of 35x35

Yet there are maps a lot bigger.
ie: http://weewar.com/map/59626

How do i make my maps bigger?

copy and edit an existing big one

When the map editor first came out I think you could keep expanding the map size to much larger than the default, but the developers realized that large maps means large resources and so they curtailed the abilities to produce huge maps. Your only other option is what Tyger said.

Yep I've edited some large existing maps to make my own. What I've not yet found though is a large map say around 50x50. I've only found rectangular ones of around 50x35. Anyone know of any?
