I would like to make a new tourney, a different kind than drdrew's tourneys. There would be 2 groups of 4 people. Everyone plays everyone in their group twice - once with red and once with blue (2 player games should move much quicker). 2 people with the most wins (from each group) go to the final round. It would be also everyone vs everyone, but on a different map.
People registered are drdrew, bagster, DoMPRoMo, somar96, NDLaos, fn0000rd, VonBastard and Doctor_Jimmy. Please choose your preferred map! Any questions or suggestions are welcome.

The map will be chosen when we have 8 players, games will be rated. Please suggest 2-3 maps you'd like to play on. Maybe I'll choose the one that most people point out.

I have only played a few maps, so I am not much of a resource here. Perhaps the higher straits - I think a less blue biased version has been made from the original. Anyway the suggested maps above look great, but perhaps more harbours and/or airfields would make for more interesting games.

Well, personally i hate ships in 1vs1 so I did propose some maps without harbors for a reason

Another reason is that bigger maps with a lot of harbors/airfields tend to stalemate a lot and take forever to finish, so we might be stuck with 6 tournament games for quite a time (and with the bug that one cannot add players to the prefered list it is really annoying to be over 15 games for me).

A map i think is pretty good/balanced for full blown 1vs1 with naval/air support is:

But of course games will take much longer on this one, maybe it would be good for the final round?

And I just wanted to get the map discussion started, so more proposals are welcome!
